Friends of Featherstone was formed in 2006 when three local businessmen Tony Kenny, so sadly no longer with us, Allan Nicholls and Mark Campbell decided enough was enough. Rovers need to return to better days. To start with they decided to form a consortium to fund the development of the team. Initially this would be done with their own money which would be paid into a separate account and be used entirely to pay the contracts of players.

They decided then to go one step further. The name Friends of Featherstone was coined and supporters were invited to join this and put £100 of their hard earned cash into supporting this regeneration. This could be done in one lump sum or, as many decided to do it, over a number of months.

This fund was a major reason behind Featherstone's success in the 2007 season and hopefully with similar support this season will lead to similar success in 2008 and beyond.
