National League, Community Club of the Year 2007

Following the Supporters meeting on the 13^th December and the resulting coverage in the local media, Featherstone Rovers would like to remind you that a follow up meeting will take place this evening at the clubhouse from 7.30pm.

This evenings meeting will update you on discussions with the local and district council and where you can help the club in the future. The importance of this matter and the effect on our long term future should not be underestimated and we hope that you will be able to spare an hour this evening to lend your much valued support.

On a lighter note we open our home fixtures this coming Sunday when we welcome the visit of Leeds Rhinos, a fixture provided by Leeds through our Lottery Association and a fixture where all gate receipts help finance the coming year. In addition Leeds Rhinos also take the ‘Main Match Sponsor’ for the game, please show your appreciation by attending this opening home game of 2008. Prices for all pre-season friendlies are £10 for Adults and £5 for Children & OAP’s. After a successful and encouraging outing on Boxing Day there will be little change to the squad used then, with the opportunity for the youngsters to impress again in this fixture. Andy Kain and Waine Pryce are close to full fitness and may make their season debuts in the Blackpool fixture on 20^th January. Paul Handforth is on honeymoon and may have to wait until the Wakefield fixture on 27^th January to get his campaign up and running. All three fixtures will Kick-off at 3pm on each corresponding Sunday.

After a fantastic launch night for the 2008 Home jersey we now start to plan the launch of our 2008 Away kit which will take place later this month and in good time for the Dewsbury Away fixture on 3^rd February. As this is the first time we have offered two kits in one season we have ordered a limited quantity of Away shirts which may be offered in the first instance to Season Ticket Holders, registered before the 11^th January 2008.
