National League, Community Club of the Year 2007

On 1st June 2008 we will play host to Widnes, with a kick-off now at 6.00pm. The reason for this is that we will be using the afternoon to celebrate the Wembley success of 1983 just as we did last season when we marked 40 years from our 67 triumphs with a fantastic afternoon in the clubhouse. More details will be issued on the schedule for the day as soon as possible, following the success last year this may be an all ticket event.

Featherstone Rovers have made a new recruit to office personnel. ‘Uncle Jim’ Moyles has joined us to help in promoting Featherstone Rovers and the association we have with nephew ‘Chris Moyles’. Jim is currently working on increased match day revenue from new sponsorship arrangements. We are delighted to say that the response has been excellent and a number of new companies will be experiencing all that we have to offer during the coming season.

The new and improved range of merchandise available is growing once more, last week we told you about a range of new sports bags and this week we’d like to make you aware of two new mugs being made available on Good Friday. If you’d like to guarantee yours or don’t want to collect on match day, why not order yours by e-mail and collect before the 21st March? clubshop@featherstonerovers.net

The mugs are priced at just £6 each and are being produced by Shindigz, Pontefract on our behalf. There will be more designs to follow, the benefit to the club being there is no minimum quantities often put on us by third parties and making such developments difficult to balance without additional costs. New designs will be coming soon for our Buccaneers, keep watching for developments or better still call in to the shop and see for yourself what’s in the pipeline!

If you would like a mug producing with your own imagery, these can be taken to Shindigz or you can speak with Ian or Paula at the club on match days for more details!

What are you doing on the 26th February? Melbourne Storm will be hosting a joint training session with Hull FC at the Chris Moyles Stadium. The training will not be open to the public but Melbourne Storm have agreed to be available for photos and autographs from 3.45pm for around 30-45 minutes. This is a great opportunity to get close up with the players and coaching staff before they take on Leeds in the World Club Challenge next Friday night!

Our first friendly for the U21’s will take place on Thursday 28th February at Post Office Road when Dewsbury will be the visitors, kick off 7.30pm. Subject to confirmation our U21’s will also play a friendly fixture against Oldham on March 14th, again with a 7.30pm kick-off.
