Featherstone Rovers are delighted to announce that Frankie Mariano has joined the club on loan from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Back-Rower Mariano is a product of the Hull Kingston Rovers academy and made his debut in the 2009 Challenge Cup against Sheffield Eagles. Mariano made his Super League debut in 2010 for Hull KR before joining Wakefield Trinity Wildcats for the 2011 season and was a handed a new two year contract after showing a rich vein of form. In 2012, Mariano made a total of 15 appearances for the Wildcats scoring 5 tries.

Featherstone Rovers Head Coach Daryl Powell said "I have been an admirer of Frankie since his time as a junior at Hull KR. He is a big physical player who can play in a number of positions with equal effectiveness. His ability to break the line will be a great addition to the squad at the current time and I look forward to welcoming him to Featherstone Rovers."

On joining Featherstone Rovers Frankie Mariano said "I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates and working under Daryl Powell who I believe is an excellent coach. Featherstone Rovers already have a strong squad I am hoping that I can bring further quality and experience to the side."

Mariano joins Featherstone Rovers after making 5 appearances for the Wildcats so far this season and will be available for selection for our Kingstone Press Championship game against Halifax RLFC on 28th April.

Featherstone Rovers Chief Executive Craig Poskitt said "We are delighted that Frankie has opted to join Featherstone Rovers as we understand that a couple of Super League clubs were also interested. Together with the signing of Will Sharp, we have shown that we are in the market place for quality players and are always looking to improve our squad. We have a very important fixture this weekend against Halifax RLFC and hope supporters come out in numbers to cheer on the lads and our new signings."
