Featherstone Rovers Statement Story in brief:
Featherstone Rovers Chairman Mark Campbell with PROBIZ Founder Feisal Nahaboo
As reported in today's Yorkshire Evening Post, Featherstone Rovers are delighted to announce that PROBIZ Founder and entrepreneur Feisal Nahaboo has agreed terms to become major shareholder at Featherstone Rovers with a significant 'multiple six figure' investment in the club. The investment will allow new players to join the club to enhance the squad as and when required.

A six figure sum has also been set aside for the expansion of the youth development structures already in place. Nahaboo aims to develop the club over the coming in years which also includes investing in stadium facilities and infrastructure. The investment has been made available to the club with immediate effect.

On signing the agreement, Feisal Nahaboo said "It is a dream to be part of a team that will do everything we can do to enter Super League for the first time. We are the best outside Super League and have won the league three years in a row. We lost two finals last year which was disappointing for the club showing the clubs dominance and I now intend to compete with the very best clubs in the UK. We have beaten a Super League club in front of a massive TV audience last year and we also ran Wigan Warriors close in the Fifth round of the Challenge Cup.

"We have gained respect as a club and I'm proud to be leading the club to good times ahead. Our team of Chairman Mark Campbell, Chief Executive Craig Poskitt, General Manager Lee Crooks and Commercial Manager Paul Taylor will lead this charge and I expect our Coach Daryl Powell to spend the funds wisely to enhance the squad when required.

"The funds are now there to build one of the best squads in rugby league and we will endeavour to spend and help improve stadium facilities over the next few months, I am absolutely astounded by the level of community club work by Featherstone Rovers and they deserve all the resources to build that the club can provide.

"I would like thank the Featherstone Rovers fans for their support during the time I have been involved in the club as a commercial partner. I have been involved in rugby league for two years but never have I felt as appreciated and welcome as the Featherstone Rovers fans have made me feel. It is an appropriate time in my life to focus on the club as well as my other business interests."

Feisal Nahaboo concluded "Featherstone Rovers is a family community and we will build together in a sustainable fashion and we will show the world how we can have a say in UK sport and become a top 6 rugby league side. We will require tremendous strength, courage, hope, luck, humility and calculation. I believe we can do it and I believe we will. A consortium will follow my move and I expect Featherstone Rovers to be a dominant force in rugby league in years to come."

Featherstone Rovers Chairman Mark Campbell said "This commitment from Feisal shows how far we have come as a club and business in the last few years. We can excite and embrace people who share our drive and ambition for this great club. Everyone at Featherstone Rovers is now focused on our aim to secure a place in Super league at the end of the current licensing period.

"With this huge investment and Feisal's commitment to underwrite that the club will spend up to the Salary Cap on entry to Super League and throughout a three year licence I really think this will make us a viable asset to Super League. The club is being built on solid financial foundations and in a sustainable way. We also have a player development pathway in place which has been put together by probably the best coaching team outside of Super League. We have great facilities to develop our own talent which is better than some club's that have been in Super League for a number of years and enjoyed the benefit of Sky Television monies and resources.

"This investment will allow us as a business to make even greater steps forward in increasing our revenues streams and maximising the 17 acres of land the club owns to make the club not only sustainable but compete for all the very best players in the game. I am certainly looking forward to working with Feisal as I know he has so much to offer in the way he goes about business and make things happen."

Featherstone Rovers Chief Executive Craig Poskitt said "The significance of this investment and commitment from Feisal cannot be underestimated. He has been highly impressed with everyone connected to Featherstone Rovers. He fully understands the principles of the club and matches our ambition to return to the echelons of the sport. We have made great strides as a club in the recent past and this support from Feisal including his entrepreneurial expertise will enable us to execute our ambitious plans which are already taking shape with our ground re-developments and other improvements.

"There is a significant buzz around this club and Feisal's decision and this announcement has been timely. We will now get the best of Feisal and he has a dream to fulfil with the club. The names in his consortium are proven businessman showing a real intent to run a successful club both on and off the field. Today is a new era for Featherstone as a club and region and we know the region will get behind this move and rally together as one. We are building a club that everyone can be proud of and we hope this is reflected in attracting new fans and lapsed supporters coming back to the club to join us on our journey."
